Planning Family Trips: Fulfillment or Challenge

I’ve been working as a family travel planner for a few years now, and I often wonder if it’s more fulfilling or challenging. Focusing on family-friendly accommodations and activities makes me so happy, yet managing stress and logistics can be overwhelming at times. How do you balance the joy of creating amazing trips with the practical side of this job?

Managing the logistics can be tough, especially with family trips where there’s a lot to consider. I find that using a project management tool helps keep everything organized, from booking accommodations to scheduling activities. It really eases the stress of juggling different elements.

I totally get what you mean about the stress of managing family trips. One thing that helps me is creating a detailed itinerary for each day, which not only keeps everything organized but also highlights the fun moments planned. Have you found any specific tools that help with that?

I find it helpful to ask families about their must-haves before planning — what’s your go-to question for clients? @emily_journey47.
