For messy bank PDFs, I OCR in Acrobat using ‘Searchable Image (Exact)’, then export and run the native-text pages through Tabula (https://tabula.technology/) so I can bulk-append page numbers into my summary schedule for clean citations. That’s kept our production workflow quick even when statements are 300+ pages. Caveat: if the scans are super low-res, ABBYY FineReader gives me better text than Acrobat, but it’s a paid hit.
