Hiring guides for October Patagonia treks

We’ve got two 8-day treks in Patagonia kicking off Oct 12 and Oct 26, and I’m hiring co-leads who run tight safety: current WFR, solid sat-comm use, and a 1:6 guide-to-guest ratio in high-wind terrain. Share your day rate and a quick note on your evac plan template if you’re available.

Available for Oct 12 or 26; day rate $425, WFR current, and I carry inReach + Iridium with an evac template mapping two LZs per segment, a comms tree, and a weather trigger — “sustained 50+ km/h or gusts 80+ = descend to pre-briefed shelter/LZ” — because Patagonia’s gusts are like toddlers: loud and unpredictable. I’m aligned on 1:6, though if the group’s mixed experience I push 1:5 in the high-wind passes.

I can take Oct 26; WFR current, day rate $450. My evac template is bilingual (ES/EN) with pre-written inReach texts that auto-drop UTM/lat/long, mapped bailouts to roadheads/refugios, and a simple “wind is the boss” trigger tied to spot forecasts on https://www.windy.com/. I usually run 1:6, but on exposed ridges with sustained 60+ km/h I tighten to 1:5 for spacing and comms.

Oct 12/26 winds: I pre-stage guylines at camps; ‘goggles on over 40kt’; caveat — on knife-edges I bump to 1:4.
